About this file
This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) filed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for laboratory equipment maintenance services. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, specifically the Division of Food Safety and the Division of Agricultural Environmental Services, seeks to procure maintenance, repair services, parts, supplies, software licenses, hardware, and training support for AB SCIEX LLC laboratory equipment. These analytical systems are essential to the divisions' core missions: the Division of Agricultural Environmental Services uses the equipment to ensure the quality and safety of feed, seed, fertilizer, and pesticides, while the Division of Food Safety utilizes the systems to analyze food samples for contaminants and ensure a safe food supply. The contract term runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The last day for prospective vendors to submit information regarding their ability to supply the requested commodities or services is June 25, 2026, following a posting date of June 04, 2026, with a minimum 15-business-day advertisement period as required by Florida Statutes.
The estimated dollar amount for this single source acquisition is approximately $300,000.00, with the approximate contract amount at $226,612.65. AB SCIEX LLC is designated as the sole intended source, as the company is the manufacturer of the equipment and the only known source with the technical expertise and ability to provide the required maintenance, repair services, training support, parts, and supplies. The justification for single source procurement is based on the necessity and uniqueness of the product and service, as well as the unavailability of competition for this specialized equipment support. Multiple divisions within the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services have approved this procurement, including representatives from Food Safety, the Division of Agricultural Environmental Services, and the Division of Administration. The notice is not a request for bid or proposal but rather statutory advertisement of the agency's intent to enter into a single source agreement, allowing prospective vendors an opportunity to provide information challenging the single source determination if applicable.
