About this file

This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) from the Florida Department of Citrus. The Department is seeking to procure 100% orange juice and grapefruit juice from a Florida-based vendor to be served at all Florida Welcome Stations. This includes the purchase of cups and juice, as well as advertising placement and signage for the Department of Citrus, as well as marketing and public relations opportunities to help meet their mission. The initial term of the contract is July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.

The estimated dollar amount for this single-source procurement is $225,000. The justification for the single source is that prior to 2014, funding for VISIT FLORIDA, the state's official tourism marketing corporation, was specified in the annual General Appropriations Act, allowing the Department of Citrus to contract with them to reimburse the cost of citrus juice dispensed at the Florida Welcome Stations. However, this specified funding authorization was not provided in the 2014 General Appropriations Act. VISIT FLORIDA is a not-for-profit corporation created as a public/private partnership by the Florida Legislature in 1996 and serves as Florida's official source for travel planning.
