About this file
This document is a Sole Source Determination for a simplified acquisition under $250,000 for the purchase of a virtual reality-based simulation training platform for law enforcement, military personnel, and first responders. The intended use is for Use of Force Training to enhance critical skills needed for high-risk situations and worst-case scenarios.
The procurement is a SBIR Phase III award that is derived from, extends, or completes efforts made under prior SBIR/STTR funding agreements. Per FAR 6.302-5, this allows award of the contract without seeking further competition. The incumbent contractor completed prior SBIR Phase I and Phase II contracts for the development of this technology. The estimated amount of the purchase is not provided. Pursuant to the SBIR/STTR Reauthorization Act of 2011, there are no limits on the number, duration, type or value of Phase III awards. The North Carolina Army National Guard is the procuring agency for this sole source acquisition.
