PROJECT DESCRIPTION/SERVICES REQUESTED
A qualified environmental consulting firm is needed to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the on-site wastewater treatment system(s) at Hoeft and Seven Lakes State Parks. Analysis shall include, at a minimum, the evaluation of existing system(s), installation of groundwater monitoring wells where applicable, and quarterly groundwater and effluent sampling to gauge the extent of treatment accomplished by the current system. This is critical due to the suspected high strength wastewater at these facilities. The project scope shall also include a summary of the analysis and resulting recommendations for pre-treatment or system upgrades as required in the form of a final report.
• Hoeft Wastewater System Summary:
The onsite wastewater treatment facility at Hoeft State Park consists of four different outfalls. In total, the system processes approximately 13,390 gallons per day, with most of the discharge occurring from May 1 – October 11. Wastewater from the sanitation lift station is fed via to a second lift station within the campground (located at Site 5). Here it is mixed with wastewater gravity fed both campground restroom buildings.
mailto:ananichs@michigan.gov
The wastewater is then moved through a series of septic tanks for settling and aeration before being discharged to the tile field.
• Seven Lakes Wastewater System Summary:
The onsite wastewater treatment facility at Seven Lakes State Park consists of three different outfalls. In total, the system processes approximately 17,250 gallons per day, with most of the discharge occurring from May 1 – October 31. Wastewater from the sanitation station and the Campground Office is collected in septic tanks and fed to a tile field.
Wastewater from the sanitation station and the Campground Office is collected in septic tanks and fed to a tile field. Wastewater from the campground restroom building is collected in septic tanks then fed into a pump station which pumps the wastewater uphill to the same tile field. The tile field is likely most susceptible to high strength wastewater, though the other types of outfalls should be evaluated based on their risk.
The Professional Services Contractor (PSC) is to provide Phase 100 Study (see example contract for tasks). Please include the following in your proposal:
