About this file

This Project Manual pertains to the complete demolition of the D'Anna Produce Building complex owned by the City of Shreveport, Louisiana. The project encompasses the removal of two building structures—a multi-story main administration building and a warehouse building—along with all associated concrete slabs, parking areas, and site flatwork. Prior to this demolition contract, an asbestos abatement project has been completed with EPA clearance achieved, ensuring the site meets environmental standards before demolition activities commence. The Project Manual serves as the governing contract document that defines all work requirements, specifications, and technical standards for bidders undertaking this comprehensive site demolition.

The manual establishes the detailed contractual framework and technical specifications necessary for contractors to develop accurate bids and execute the demolition work in compliance with all applicable codes and requirements. As this is an abandoned commercial property previously operated as a wholesale fruit and vegetable distribution business, the demolition contractor must address complete site clearing and restoration. The project represents a municipal property remediation effort by the City of Shreveport to address a vacant industrial site, with specific attention to proper handling of hazardous materials already addressed through prior asbestos abatement activities.
