About this file

This document is an Invitation for Bids (IFB) #242579MN issued by Sarasota County, Florida, soliciting bids for bioswale maintenance services on county-owned or operated properties. The IFB covers maintenance of four bioswale zones totaling 163 bioswales across approximately 9.01 acres, with a combined perimeter of 31,382.77 linear feet. The anticipated maintenance will be performed on a monthly cycle, with the County reserving the right to add additional maintenance cycles as needed. Bidders must provide references demonstrating at least two prior bioswale maintenance service experiences within the past seven years and comply with specific maintenance requirements including litter removal, vegetation management, pruning, and invasive species control.

The contract will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder submitting the lowest total bid price, with specific insurance requirements including Workers' Compensation, Commercial General Liability, Business Automobile Liability, and Pollution Liability coverage for pesticide and herbicide applications. The initial contract term is not explicitly stated, but the document suggests a comprehensive maintenance approach with detailed specifications for managing bioswales. Notably, local and American business preferences will not apply in this bid due to grant funding requirements. Contractors must use the County's computer-based Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for reporting and are subject to detailed inspection and performance evaluation processes.
