Procurement of Research Evaluation and Statistics Task Orders (PRESTO)
***THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS***
This synopsis notice is posted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5.203(a).
The Institute of Education Sciences (IES) intends to re-compete the Education Statistics Service Institute
Network (ESSIN) contract by issuing a vehicle that encompasses additional requirements that supports the entire IES mission and that is accessible to the entire Department of Education (ED) as applicable.
This new requirement has been titled Procurement of Research Evaluation and Statistics Task Orders
(PRESTO), and shall be a multiple award, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract vehicle.
This contract vehicle will support IES in its role as the independent education research, evaluation, and statistics arm of ED, while providing a diversified and qualified pool of vendors to help IES and ED meet mission critical needs.
The scope of PRESTO comprises five distinct scope categories with associated NAICS codes assigned to each category and are as follows:

ANTICIPATED PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
The period of performance of this contract will include a 60-month Base Period and one 60-month
Optional Period.
ANTICIPATED ACQUISITION STRATEGY
The Department anticipates releasing the RFP in August or September of 2022. It is also anticipated that the acquisition strategy will be a negotiated, competitive acquisition and conducted in accordance with
FAR Part 12 and 15.
