About this file

This document is a Sources Sought announcement/market survey from the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center regarding a potential future requirement to relocate and reinstall a flightline fence at Randolph Air Force Base in Texas.

The key details are:

  • The project would involve removing the existing fence, repairing any damage, repairing asphalt and curbing, painting vehicle parking lines, and installing a new vehicle gate and two personnel gates.
  • The government is conducting market research to identify qualified firms, including small businesses, to potentially perform these services under a future firm-fixed-price contract.
  • The relevant NAICS code is 238990 (All Other Specialty Trade Contractors) with a $19M size standard.
  • Interested parties are requested to provide information about their company, size status, registration status, and any feedback on the NAICS code selection by August 12, 2024 at 4:00pm MDT.
  • No solicitation or award will result directly from this announcement, but the information gathered will influence the acquisition strategy.

2 Shaded area with reduced edge distance is permitted provided the rebar has no installation torque.

3 When combining multiple load adjustment factors (e.g. for a four-anchor pattern in a corner with thin concrete member) the design can become very conservative.

To optimize the design, use PROFIS Engineering or perform anchor calculation using design equations from ACI 318 Chapter 17.

4 Spacing factor reduction in shear applicable when c < 3*hef. ƒAV, is applicable when edge distance, c < 3*hef ef, then ƒAV = ƒAN.

5 Concrete thickness reduction factor in shear, ƒHV, is applicable when edge distance, c < 3*hef ef, then ƒHV = 1.0.
