Project Synopsis

The City anticipates releasing an RFP to seek proposals from Consultants to provide professional services for the WRWTP Finished Water Pump Station (FWPS) Upgrades (“Project”).

The recently completed Willamette River Water Treatment Plant (“WRWTP”) Expansion increased finished water pumping capacity. These pumping capacity upgrades have increased the electrical loads in the Finished Water Pump Station (“FWPS”), necessitating HVAC improvements to protect the electrical equipment from overheating. It is anticipated that the required HVAC improvements will also entail structural improvements to the FWPS roof, though this remains to be confirmed during design.

The WRWTP Expansion project also included design of seismic resilience improvements that were not constructed due to budget limitations. This Project will incorporate the previously designed seismic resilience improvements, along with architectural improvements to the FWPS – Storage Room (former standby generator room), into the final construction package.

This Project will evaluate options for adding a replacement NaOH storage tank and spill containment area in the existing chemical storage bay.

The scope of work for this Project includes the following elements:

• Design of HVAC system improvements in the Finished Water Pump Station Building

• Incorporate seismic structural system improvements previously designed for WRWTP Expansion

Project for the following facilities:

- Washwater Equalization Basin

- Finished Water Pump Station

- Chemical Storage Bay

- Ozone Generation

• Design architectural upgrades for FWPS – Storage Room (AKA former generator room)

• Evaluate options to replace NaOH storage tank and spill containment area in the existing chemical storage bay

• Provide engineering services during construction
