Ben, You will need to answer these questions.

1. Please send cut sheets for the new equipment that Post has purchased. There is electrical nameplate information that is necessary. Please also include any equipment “options” that were chosen. Most equipment of this type has certain standard capabilities, but a lot of capabilities (specifically for what you would like monitored) can be optional from vendors. This information should be on the purchase order when the equipment was purchased.

The replacement is a direct in-kind replacement. The controllers and pumps are the same as the current ones. Any other information is in the SOW appendix for images and itemized list of things that were purchased by the Patterson pump rep.

1. Are you looking for as-built drawings, shop drawings, or both? Changes to the existing drawings are fine. Most importantly, a one line electrical diagram.

2. If you are requiring shop drawings, how many submissions do you require?

Not required.

3. Will a one-line diagram suffice since there was no survey, and the equipment has already been purchased by Post?

Yes.

4. How many sets of as-built drawings do you require?

5. Regarding the Jockey Pump: Is the new pump supplied with flange connections like the existing pump? Do you have new 1 ¼” gaskets to install or should we provide them?

New is similar to old. No gaskets that I can find.

6. Regarding Appendix A: Item #1 states: X 3 VIP Vertical Inline. I assume that this should read 4 X 3 meaning a 4” suction and a 3” discharge on the pump. Can you please confirm this.

Yes, 4” suction, 3” discharge

7. Regarding Appendix A: Item #7 states: X 4 Concentric Discharge Increaser Discharge-125# FLG. Can you Confirm that this concentric increaser is in fact a 3” X 4” cone fitting and if it is in fact a flanged fitting? This will help me determine the amount of pipe modification is necessary in order to get everything together.

Yes, 3” x 4” flanged cone fitting. Existing pipe is no hub and also will need to be shortened to fit the cone fitting.

8. Regarding the Fire Pump: Can you confirm if the new fire pump has its own baseplate to be mounted to the floor or if the existing one can be reused. We need to be able to achieve the same centerline for the new pump as the old so everything will line up and go together.

9. No new baseplate. Old may be reused. May need shimming.

10. What is the nominal system voltage feeding the existing fire pump? e.g. (3 phase-3 wire with ground 380 volt) or (1 phase 220 volt) or (1 phase 380 volt)

380 volt 3 phase 3 wire with ground

11. What type of feeder is powering the existing fire pump? Aluminum OR Copper? e.g. (3 phase-3 wire with ground) or (3 phase-4 wire with ground) or (1 phase-3 wire with ground) Copper 3 phase 3 wire with ground

12. What size is the breaker feeding the existing fire pump?

63Amps

13. What is the make and model number of this breaker?

Hager MC 363P

14. What is the KAIC rating of this breaker at the system voltage (the interrupting rating)?

Unable to determine

15. What is the existing fire pump feeder conductor size?

Metric size roughly equivalent to AWG 3

16. What is the existing fire pump feeder conduit size?

1 inch

17. What is the existing fire pump feeder conduit type (EMT/RIGID/PVC)?

PVC

18. How far away is the source electrical supply?

Approx. 50 ft.

19. Is the intent to re-use the existing electrical feeder, or to install a new electrical feeder back to the source supply for the new fire pump?

Reuse existing

20. It does not appear that there is back up power at the existing transfer switch. Please confirm.

Fire pump transfer switch is fed from a panel which is fed from the compound ATS. No separate emergency feed into pump ATS.

21. For the existing jockey pump, what is the voltage/Horse Power rating?

380-415Y, 1.1kW

Is the existing Jockey pump circuit dedicated to the jockey pump currently, or is that circuit also feeding other loads?

Dedicated Conduit size?

1 inch Conduit type? (EMT, RIGID, PVC?)

PVC

Wire size?

Metric size roughly equivalent to AWG 5

22. Voltage?

380V

23. 1 phase or 3 phase?

3 phase

24. number of conductors in the feeder?

3 wire with ground

25. existing jockey pump breaker size?

32A

26. existing jockey pump breaker make and model?

Hager MC332P

27. existing jockey pump breaker KAIC rating?

Unable to determine

28. How far away is the electrical panel that feeds the jockey pump(s)?

Approx. 50 ft.

29. Is the intent to re-use the existing electrical feeder, or to install a new electrical feeder back to the source supply for the new jockey pump?

Reuse existing

30. Is the electrical panel that feeds the existing fire pump and jockey pump(s) in the same building as the fire pump, or is the fire pump in a separate building?

Same building

31. What is the make and model of the electrical panel feeding the existing jockey pump?

Kanway, unable to determine model number

32. How many available spaces and spare breakers are in the electrical panel feeding the existing fire pump/jockey pump(s)?

No extra spaces, no spares

33. Are there any existing fire alarm modules that need to be disconnected and reconnected at the fire pump skid?

Yes

34. If yes, are they currently functional?

Yes

35. How many points are being monitored at the fire pump controller currently?

36. What specific points are currently being monitored at the fire pump room by the existing fire alarm system?

Power/phase failure, pump operating, phase reversal, valves 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 20, and valve to future construction

37. Is Post to be responsible for programming the existing fire alarm system, or will this be contractor responsibility?

Post is responsible

38. If the existing fire alarm modules on the existing fire pump controller currently monitor the set points listed in the SOW, and are currently working properly, there would be no need to increase cost to program the fire alarm system, but this will need to be known prior to bidding since this is a fixed price.

Working properly

39. Fire alarm monitoring of “phase reversal” was not listed in the SOW. Is this to be included as well, and does the existing fire alarm system currently monitor this set point on the existing fire pump controller?

Currently being monitored.
