About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details NASA's requirement for 60 EnSci Electrochemical Concentration Cell (ECC) ozonesondes for the SHADOZ long-term measurement station in Nairobi, Kenya. The procurement supports multi-decadal balloon-borne ozone profile records used for satellite validation, ozone and pollution trends, and climate studies, with instruments to be shipped to MeteoSwiss in Switzerland for logistics and distribution to the Nairobi station.

The one-year procurement covers ozonesondes to be launched from September 2025 to August 2026, with NASA/NSSC intending to issue a sole source contract to JH Acquisitions, LLC under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The contract is justified because JH Acquisitions is the manufacturer of existing ozonesondes compatible with current NASA equipment. The NAICS code for this procurement is 334516, and interested organizations may submit capabilities and qualifications by 4:00 p.m. EST on 3/14/2025, with the government retaining discretion on competitive procurement strategies.
