About this file

This document is a set of Questions and Answers (Q&A) related to a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a double cabin vehicle. The RFQ was issued by the U.S. Consulate General Surabaya, with a delivery location of Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya, Indonesia.

The key details include: 1) The automatic transmission option is only available with a 2.4L turbocharged engine, while the RFQ specifies a 2.0L turbo engine. The agency confirmed the 2.0L turbo engine is acceptable. 2) The extendable truck ladder is not a standard accessory, and the agency requested quotes without the ladder. 3) The vehicle will be registered under the U.S. Consulate General Surabaya entity. 4) The vehicle must remain at the origin until the U.S. Embassy Jakarta obtains duty-free/tax exemption approvals from the Indonesian government, similar to the requirements for the Surabaya office. Delivery will be F.O.B. Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWER

Q1: Engine Specification: The automatic transmission option is available only with a 2.4 L turbocharged engine, whereas the requisition specifies a 2.0 L turbo engine. Could you please confirm if this is acceptable or if there are alternative specifications to consider?

A1: Please quote the vehicle with automatic transmission

Q2: Extendable Truck Ladder: This accessory is not standard. Would you prefer us to install the extendable ladder, or would providing adapters for its installation suffice?

A2: Please quote with standard condition without extendable ladder

Q3. Number Plate Registration: Kindly specify under which entity the vehicle will be registered and the registered location of said entity.

A3: The vehicle will be registered under US Consulate General Surabaya entity.

Q4. "The U.S. Embassy Jakarta will need to obtain duty-free/tax exemption approvals from the

Indonesian Government – Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Customs office before authorizing the shipment of the vehicle to Jakarta. While this process is being completed, the vehicle must remain at the origin. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in the contractor being responsible for any storage and demurrage costs incurred at the Jakarta port. Delivery shall be made F.O.B. destination (Tanjung Priok Sea Port, Jakarta, Indonesia) as soon as the contractor receives clearance from the U.S. Embassy Jakarta."

Could you please confirm if a similar process applies to your requirements for the Surabaya office, possibly with delivery terms at F.O.B. Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya?

A3. Yes, the requirements would apply the same with Embassy Jakarta, the difference this would be F.O.B. destination Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya.
