About this file

This is a specification sheet for portable barriers required by the 366th Security Forces Squadron at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho for special events.

The 366th Security Forces Squadron requires two crash-rated portable barrier systems with transport trailers. The 2.5-lane package must cover approximately 33.5 feet of traffic and include one fully enclosed trailer with dedicated compartments for barrier storage and accessories. The 10-lane package must cover approximately 124 feet of traffic and include one fully enclosed trailer. Both packages must provide minimum protection from a 7.5-ton truck at 30 miles per hour with an ASTM F2656 penetration rating of at least P3 or higher, without requiring multiple rows or attachment to a holding point. The barrier systems must be modular and adaptable to any road width, with the ability to connect units to each other while maintaining barrier integrity and stopping capability. Barriers must have pivoting capability to transition into movable gates operable by one individual and must fold for easy carrying and storage. The 2.5-lane package requires one set of sequential lighting elements providing an estimated 24+ hours of continuous flash with rechargeable batteries, while the 10-lane package requires four sets. All barriers must be bright in color for maximum visibility, feature tool-free assembly and dismantle by one person, and include protected bottom edges for pedestrian safety. Trailers must comply with U.S. Department of Transportation regulations. Shipping must be included in quotations, and delivery is required no later than 60 days after the date of contract.
