About this file
This document is a Salient Characteristics specification for a Point of Care Ultrasound System, referencing the FujiFilm Sonosite PX as a brand name item. The document outlines detailed technical requirements for an ultrasound-imaging device intended for portable medical applications, with specifications divided into three primary categories: Imaging Capabilities, Size and Design Requirements, and Cybersecurity Standards.
The imaging equipment must support multiple operational modes including B Mode, M Mode, Color Doppler, and Wave modes, with transducer array compatibility (linear, phased, curved) and comprehensive measurement packages for abdomen, cardiac, OB/Gyn, and vascular applications. Physical design requirements mandate portability, with specific dimensional constraints (stand no larger than 23x26 inches, total height under 65 inches) and include cable management. Cybersecurity requirements are stringent, mandating built-in data encryption, secured patient data transmission and storage, and compliance with Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) for moderate security control. This procurement is a pre-solicitation for the Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically for the Philadelphia VA Healthcare System, with a planned full solicitation release on GSA eBuy around April 15, 2025, designated as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SD/VOSB) set-aside under NAICS code 334510.
