About this file

This document is a Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) for the Point Defense Battle Lab's 2026 experimental testing schedule. The Point Defense Battle Lab, operating under the 319th Fighter Wing at Grand Forks Air Force Base, will conduct monthly experimental tests with commercial vendors focused on small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) detection, tracking, targeting, and engagement capabilities. Each monthly stress-test will be assigned a designation number (26.XX) and advertised via www.sam.gov, with detailed information available at https://www.grandforks.af.mil/Point-Defense-Battle-Lab/.

The testing roadmap begins in January 2026 with airspace authorization (26.1-26.2) and progresses through twelve months of sequential experiments. Key milestones include February's passive detection and Find, Fix, Track, Target, Engage (F2T2E) testing (26.3); March through June's continued F2T2E experiments (26.5, 26.61-26.64, 26.71); August's kinetic testing at Camp Grafton and Northrop Grumman AiON demonstrations (26.8-26.10); and four engagement experiments scheduled for October through December (26.13-26.16). Additional specialized assessments include the T-REX vendor assessment (26.11), a demonstration for the Secretary of the Army with the 319th Fighter Wing Exercise (26.12), and an ACC Valuable Asset Protection Operational Rehearsal vendor assessment in March. The document notes it is a living draft subject to change, with a certification date of 20 July 2026.
