About this file

This is a Sources Sought Notice for industrial availability and dry docking services for the Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX-1) platform. The Department of the Navy Military Sealift Command is seeking information from potential contractors regarding their capability to provide industrial support and dry docking services for the SBX-1, a critical radar system. The solicitation number is PM2-N105C-26-002, and this is a pre-solicitation notice designed to gather market information before formal solicitation release. Contractors are expected to demonstrate their experience with large maritime vessels, specifically those capable of accommodating the unique requirements of radar platform maintenance and overhaul operations.

The notice seeks to identify qualified shipyards and industrial facilities with experience in dry docking operations, structural maintenance, system overhaul, and preservation services for specialized naval vessels. Prospective offerors should provide information about their facility capabilities, relevant past performance on similar platforms, workforce qualifications, and availability to support the SBX-1's maintenance schedule. This pre-solicitation phase allows the government to assess market capability before issuing a formal Request for Proposals (RFP). Interested parties should monitor the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) and relevant government contracting channels for the formal solicitation release, expected to follow this market research phase.
