About this file

This document is an analytical environmental testing report prepared by Eurofins Pensacola for the Escambia County Water Quality Division, focusing on a comprehensive water quality analysis of a sample designated as "L-O" collected on September 3, 2024. The report encompasses multiple testing methodologies including volatile organic compounds (VOA), semivolatile organic compounds (Semi VOA), organochlorine pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls, herbicides, metals, mercury, and general chemistry analyses. The laboratory processed the water sample on multiple dates between September 3-13, 2024, using various standardized EPA and Standard Methods protocols, with results reported on September 29, 2024.

The analytical report includes detailed detection summaries, method summaries, sample receipt checklists, and quality control data demonstrating the laboratory's compliance with multiple state and federal accreditations. The sample results reveal trace detections of several compounds including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, metals, and various organic compounds, with most analytes reported at levels below regulatory screening limits. Eurofins Pensacola utilized two laboratory locations (Pensacola and Savannah) for testing, and the report includes comprehensive accreditation information showing certifications from numerous state environmental agencies and federal programs, with most accreditations valid through mid to late 2025.

Receipt The samples were received on 9/3/2024 5:15 PM. Unless otherwise noted below, the samples arrived in good condition, and where required, properly preserved and on ice. The temperature of the cooler at receipt was 0.8º C.

GC/MS VOA

Method 8260D: The matrix spike / matrix spike duplicate (MS/MSD) recoveries for analytical batch 400-683464 were outside control limits for one or more analytes. See QC Sample Results for detail. Sample matrix interference and/or non-homogeneity are suspected because the associated laboratory control sample (LCS) recovery is within acceptance limits.

Method 8260D: The matrix spike / matrix spike duplicate (MS/MSD) precision for analytical batch 400-683464 was outside control limits. Sample matrix interference is suspected.

Method 8260D: The continuing calibration verification (CCV) associated with batch 400-683464 recovered outside acceptance criteria, low biased, for Chloromethane, Methylene Chloride, trans-1,4-Dichloro-2-butene and Vinyl acetate. A reporting limit (RL) standard was analyzed, and the target analytes are detected. Since the associated samples were non-detect for the analyte(s), the data are reported.

Method 8260D: The matrix spike / matrix spike duplicate (MS/MSD) recoveries for analytical batch 400-683464 were outside control limits for 2-Chloroethyl vinyl ether due to the acidic nature of the parent sample.

GC/MS Semi VOA Method 8270E: The following sample was diluted due to the nature of the sample matrix: L-O (400-261714-1). Elevated reporting limits (RLs) are provided.

Method 8270E: The continuing calibration verification (CCV) associated with batch 400-683637 recovered above the upper control limit for Kepone. The samples associated with this CCV were non-detects for the affected analytes; therefore, the data have been reported.

Method 8270E: The continuing calibration verification (CCV) associated with batch 400-683637 recovered outside acceptance criteria, low biased, for 1-Naphthylamine, Diphenylamine, Famphur and N-Nitrosodiphenylamine. A reporting limit (RL) standard was analyzed, and the target analytes are detected. Since the associated samples were non-detect for the analyte(s), the data are reported.

Method 8270E: The laboratory control sample and/or the laboratory control sample duplicate (LCS/LCSD) for preparation batch 400-683525 and analytical batch 400-683637 recovered outside control limits for the following analyte(s): p-Phenylene diamine, alpha,alpha-Dimethyl phenethylamine and Famphur. p-Phenylene diamine, alpha,alpha-Dimethyl phenethylamine and Famphur have been identified as a poor performing analyte when analyzed using this method; therefore, re-extraction/re-analysis was not performed. Batch precision also exceeded control limits for these analyte(s). These results have been reported and qualified.

Method 8270E: The laboratory control sample (LCS) and / or laboratory control sample duplicate (LCSD) for preparation batch 400-683525 and analytical batch 400-683637 recovered outside control limits for the following analytes: 2,4-Dimethylphenol.

These analytes were biased high in the LCS and were not detected in the associated samples; therefore, the data have been reported.

Method 8270E: The initial calibration curve analyzed in batch 400-683637 was outside method criteria for the following analyte(s):

Famphur. As indicated in the reference method, sample analysis may proceed; however, any detection or non-detection for the affected analyte(s) is considered an estimated concentration.

Method 8270E: The continuing calibration verification (CCV) associated with batch 400-684129 recovered above the upper control limit for Dinoseb. The samples associated with this CCV were non-detects for the affected analytes; therefore, the data have been reported.

Method 8270E SIM: The method blank for preparation batch 400-683525 and analytical batch 400-684477 contained Benzo[g,h,i]perylene, Dibenz(a,h)anthracene and Indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene above the method detection limit. This target analyte concentration was less than the reporting limit (RL) in the method blank; therefore, re-extraction and/or re-analysis of samples was not performed.

Method 8081B: Two surrogates are used for this analysis. The laboratory's SOP allows one of these surrogates to be outside acceptance criteria without performing re-extraction/re-analysis. The following sample contained an allowable number of surrogate compounds outside limits: L-O (400-261714-1). These results have been reported and qualified.

Method 8081B: The continuing calibration verification (CCV) associated with batch 400-683480 recovered above the upper control limit for Chlordane (technical). The samples associated with this CCV were non-detects for the affected analytes; therefore, the data have been reported.

Method 8082A: The continuing calibration verification (CCV) associated with batch 400-683444 recovered outside acceptance criteria, low biased, for PCB-1260. A reporting limit (RL) standard was analyzed, and the target analytes are detected. Since the associated samples were non-detect for the analyte(s), the data are reported.

Method 8082A: Two surrogates are used for this analysis. The laboratory's SOP allows one of these surrogates to be outside acceptance criteria without performing re-extraction/re-analysis. The following sample contained an allowable number of surrogate compounds outside limits: L-O (400-261714-1). These results have been reported and qualified.
