About this file
This document is an AFMC Form 158 Packaging Requirements specification for a federal contract purchase instrument FD20302402106-00.
The packaging requirements apply to three items (2915015503637NZ, 9999DTH2500D5, and 9999DTH2500D7) and mandate compliance with MIL-STD-2073-1 Revision E and MIL-STD-129 Revision R standards for military packaging and marking. A critical requirement addresses United Nations-implemented restrictions on wood packaging material (WPM) to prevent invasive species like the pinewood nematode. All wooden lumber, pallets, and containers must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Celsius (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 30 minutes, with certification and marking required by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) per International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15). The specification also requires vendors to mark the type and flash point of purging fluid in accordance with DAFI 24-602 Volume 2, Section 2.16.6.3 and AFMAN 24-604, Section A.3.3.9.5.4. Shipping containers must be marked per MIL-STD-129 and may require additional markings including unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer names, and OEM model numbers as specified on the AFMC Form 158. The packaging specialist is Aaron D. Mallory (406 SCMS/GULAA), and the specification was signed and dated 26 March 2025.
