About this file

This is an AFMC Form 158 Packaging Requirements document for Purchase Instrument Number FD20602600464-00 (Version 2), which specifies packaging and marking standards for two line items under a federal contract.

The document establishes comprehensive packaging requirements compliant with United Nations restrictions on wood packaging material (WPM), specifically addressing invasive species such as the pinewood nematode. All wooden lumber, pallets, and containers must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Celsius (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for 30 minutes, with certification and marking required by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC). The first line item (9999DTL26010CEW) requires no packaging data, while the second item (5985011744773EW) requires MIL Long Line Packaging at Preservation Level MIL, Packaging Level B, with specific unit pack dimensions (6.3 x 5.3 x 3.0 inches, 0.057 cubic measure). All items must be packaged in accordance with MIL-STD-2073-1 (Standard Practice for Military Packaging) and marked per MIL-STD-129 (Standard Practice for Military Marking). Shipping containers require additional marking including MIL-STD-129 compliance plus any supplemental requirements such as unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer names, or OEM model numbers as specified on the form. The document was prepared by Cedric M. Corbin, Packaging Specialist with the 406 SCMS/GULAA organization, on March 31, 2026.
