About this file
This document is an Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Packaging Requirements form (AFMC Form 158) for multiple radar transmitter repair services. The document specifies detailed packaging and marking instructions for various NSN-numbered radar transmitters, including 4 units of NSN 5840-01-599-9081FD, 7 units of NSN 5840-01-598-6408FD, and 6 units of NSN 5840-01-659-4499FD. The packaging requirements mandate compliance with MIL-STD-129 (Revision R) and MIL-STD-2073-1 (Revision E), with specific instructions for wood packaging material that must be heat-treated, debarked, and certified by an accredited agency to prevent invasive species transmission.
The packaging instructions require vendors to follow military packaging and marking standards, with shipping containers marked according to MIL-STD-129 and including additional requirements such as unit serial numbers, original equipment manufacturer names, and model numbers. The document indicates this is a sole-source requirement for Applied Systems Engineering, Inc. (3Z966), with the packaging specialist from the 406 SCMS/GULAA office being Cedric E. Williams, who signed the document on 28 April 2025. The packaging requirements apply to a repair services contract for radar transmitters under the JTE (Joint Test Evaluation) program.
