QUESTION RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO NOTICE OF FUNDING OPPORTUNITY FOR ADMINISTRATION
OF THE
2016 THOMAS R. PICKERING FOREIGN AFFAIRS FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
DATED 6/2/15
Question: Are the draft survey questionnaire, sample of Fellowship's application, and latest audit (A-133)--all required for the proposal--counted toward the page count or can they be separate appendices?
Answer: No, surveys, handouts, A-133, budget and other attachments, including endorsement letters, etc. are not counted.
Question: For the interview phase of the program (ie; students brought to Washington to be interviewed) is there a specific number of qualified applicants/students you’re looking for at that point in the process?
Answer: Historically, the number of finalists invited to Washington for interviews during the selection process are twice the number of fellows expected to be selected for each cohort, e.g., 60 finalists would be invited to Washington should the goal be to ultimately select 30 fellows for that year’s cohort.
Question: To confirm, the awardee would not be responsible for securing lodging for international internships? It appears that way from the solicitation.
Answer: No, the awardee is not responsible for securing lodging for the contractually required international (overseas) internship. The Department of State handles this aspect of the international (overseas) internships. .
Question: Will questions/answered be made public and is there any due date for future questions?
Answer: Questions received by potential bidders in response to this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) will be made public by amending the NOFO on www.grants.gov and www.grantsolutions.gov. As stated in the NOFO, questions regarding this NOFO can only be answered while the funding opportunity is open. Once the application deadline has passed, HR/REE may not discuss elements of the proposal with applicants. The application deadline is June 22, 2015 at 11:59Pm EST.
