About this file
This document is a justification and approval for other than full and open competition for a sole source contract award. The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 2 requires preventative maintenance and repair services for seven Steris V-Pro sterilizers located at the Syracuse VA Medical Center and Rochester Outpatient Clinic. The period of performance is from December 1, 2023 through November 30, 2024 with four optional one-year extensions. The sole source award will be made to Steris Corporation as the original equipment manufacturer since they are the only factory authorized supplier of parts and service compliant with manufacturer specifications. Market research included a notice of intent to sole source on SAM from October 3 to 11, 2023 and an open request for quotation from November 2 to 14, 2023 which resulted in only one response that was deemed non-compliant by Steris Corporation. The anticipated fair and reasonable price is a total of $506,611.70 over the base year and four option years, which is 17% higher than the independent government cost estimate.
