The contractor must manufacture six sea chest kits constructed entirely from domestic 5086-H116 aluminum alloy plate and seamless 5086 pipe, with all welds performed by ABS-certified welders and inspected by an ABS representative. The configuration includes two 10-inch and four 12-inch sea chests. Each kit shall be delivered as components without nozzles or flanges installed (except for top and bottom flanges and covers, which are undrilled). Horizontal nozzles are to be shipped separately, manufactured from 5086 pipe with machine-finished ANSI flanges, and fabricated approximately 300 millimeters longer than specified drawings to accommodate field connection by the prime contractor. Each sea chest kit must include one stainless steel (316) basket and material certifications from the supplier. The contractor shall coordinate with the Navy point of contact (Melissa Gooch, PPE, 912-996-0682) regarding pickup by MSC shipping and provide material status updates. Bayou Metals Supply is listed as a recommended source. All work must comply with referenced drawings and ABS standards for domestic materials.
