About this file
This is a Faithful Performance Bond document issued by the County of Orange, California, for use in securing contractor performance on county contracts. The bond serves as a guarantee that the principal contractor will faithfully perform all covenants, conditions, and agreements specified in the underlying contract with the County of Orange Sheriff-Coroner Department for Boat Engine Repairs (IFB # 060-2936802-CF). The contract is structured as a firm fixed-fee agreement with a three-year initial term commencing on February 3, 2026, and includes an option to renew for two additional years. Bids must be submitted electronically through the County's online procurement portal by November 13, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., with all questions or requests for interpretation due by October 30, 2025, before 12:00 p.m.
The bond requires the contractor and surety to be jointly and severally liable to the County in a penal sum to be determined based on the contract price, with the premium charged at a specified rate per thousand dollars of the contract value. The surety's signature must be notarized, and the surety company name must be typed or stamped on the document. The bond obligates the surety to indemnify and defend the County and includes provisions waiving notice of any changes, extensions, alterations, or additions to the contract terms. California Corporations Code section 313 requirements apply to corporate signatories, requiring either two authorized officers or one officer with written evidence of authority. The bond encompasses all costs, reasonable expenses, and fees incurred by the County in successfully enforcing the obligation, which shall be taxed as costs and included in any judgment rendered.
