Performance Work Statement
Project Title: B185 Cooling Tower media replacement Period Of Performance: 60 days After Contract Award
1. Objectives:
The scope of work is to replace the internal fill media of the west comfort cooling tower at B185 with a new, full, and complete set of fill media, as well as replace the four 6” spray supply valves and actuators on top of the east and west tower2 (2 per tower).
2. Existing Conditions:
The internal fill media was installed incorrectly and is missing fill portions, as well as having been damaged from operation after the incorrect installation. The existing tower is a 2-cell BACross tower, m/n 333A-2. The replacement fill media to be used is P/N EX7716MG, or equal performance bottom supported PVC pack type fill material. The existing fill media is the P/N EX7716MG type. The existing spray supply valves no longer seat or actuate properly and require replacement; they are 6” butterfly valves with Delta model D24-800 actuators (option 2 AUX LS, 24 VAC, 50 VA isolated, 797 in-lbs torque).
3. Requirements
The Contractor shall remove all the existing fill media from the tower and place it in the Government supplied dumpster, including any damaged portions of media. The contractor shall install a new and complete set of internal fill media into the tower cells. The contractor shall make any adjustments needed to the fill media supports to allow proper media installation. The contractor shall replace the four existing spray supply valves on top of the towers with new like-for-like valves and actuators or equal.
The contractor shall furnish all material, labor, transportation, equipment, tools, services, expertise, supervision, and incidentals required to fulfill the requirements of this contract. No alterations, additions, or deletions shall be made unless by prior approval of the government Project Manager and the government Procuring Contract Officer (PCO). The work shall conform to the most current applicable State, AFI, ETL, NFPA, and Unified Facility Criteria Standards. Work shall be completed in a neat, substantial, and competent manner. All personnel shall abide by all industry safety standards, such as OSHA, and the Contractor shall provide all required PPE. The contractor shall perform quality assurance activities that conform to the quality assurance processes outlined in International organization of Standards (ISO) 9001, Quality Management Systems. The Contractor shall use PWS requirements.
4. Contractor Responsibilities
The Contractor shall coordinate with the Government for needed system operation to allow the work and subsequent testing of the cooling towers.
The Contractor shall provide their own lock-out-tag-outs as needed.
The Contractor shall be present for operational testing of the cooling towers to ensure proper operation with the newly installed fill media and valves.
The Contractor shall A dumpster shall utilize dumpster provided by the Government to remove used fill media and any other debris generated during the work.
