PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

1. Statement of Need and Purpose:

SWRMC Code 274 needs to acquire an ROV system to be able to expedite troubleshooting and inspections of underwater systems including when navy diver support is not available and provide SWRMC diver support when performing pier side troubleshooting. The system needs to be compact and portable, with a high thrust to weight ratio allowing the ability to operate in the strong water currents of approximately 3 knots at Naval Base Point Loma.

SYSTEM MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

-Remote Operated Vehicle with:

-4 ea. 350W Brushless, Flooded Thrusters 0 – 11 lbs. thrust per thruster (varible)

-Tilting Color 1080p Video Camera

-2 High-Powered LED Lights 3000 lumens total (1500 lumens each)

-A Single function manipulator

-Payload Capacity of 3 lbs.

-Depth rating of 1000 ft.

-Carriable Light Weight unit 20-25 lbs.

-CABLE:

-330 ft. long

-Working load 230 lbs. Jacket Green Polyurethane Weight in seawater, Neutral Dry weight 33 lbs. per 330 ft

-ELECTRICAL:

-CAT5E4 Twisted Pair #24 AWG Conductors 500volt, 12 ea. #22 AWG.

-CONTROL CONSOLE MECHANICAL:
