THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, nor is it a request seeking contractors to be placed on a solicitation mailing list. Response to this market survey is voluntary and no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey and any follow-on information requests. Data submitted in response to this market survey will not be returned. No solicitation document exists at this time, and calls requesting a solicitation will not be answered. It is the responsibility of Industry, when providing any comments/responses, to properly mark such information that is considered proprietary or is otherwise restricted.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Repair Paladin Digital Fire Control Unit (PDCU) and Keypads.

THE REQUIREMENT: Repair 116 PDCUs and 45 Keypads.

OBJECTIVE: Gather information of contractors able to repair the PDCUs and Keypads.

GENERAL INFORMATION: (History and future use) The M109 Family of Vehicles (FOV) has been the primary Self-Propelled, Medium 155MM Howitzer fielded in the U.S. Army’s arsenal inventory since the early 1960s. The PDCU is the processing unit for the digital fire control system for the Paladin. The Keypad is the analog input device which connects to the PDCU and has data inputted into it. Without the Keypad or PDCU, the M109A6 paladin would be non-mission capable.

1. Do you have any kind of partnership with Sechan Electronics Inc. to repair Paladin Digital Fire Control Unit (PDCU) and Keypads? Repairs on the PDCU and Keypad may include, unpacking, disassembly, inspection, diagnosis, removal and replacement of subassemblies and component parts, reassembly, cosmetic work (i.e. paint touch ups or replacement of cable ports to prevent further deterioration or functionality interference), calibration, final testing and inspection, and packing for shipment.

2. Describe your company’s experience in repairing electronic components classification Federal Supply Class (FSC) 7010 (Includes an assembly of devices consisting of a central processing unit (CPU) and the necessary input/output devices, accessorial devices, analog measurement devices, software and/or firmware required to perform the desired objectives.) and 7025 (Input/output and storage devices).
