About this file

This document contains Labor and Material Payment Bond and Performance Bond templates for use with a Connecticut state and local contract opportunity for striping services at two city intersections: Willets Avenue at Montauk Avenue and Willetts Avenue at Maple Avenue. The bonds are standard forms required to be executed by the principal contractor and surety to guarantee contract performance and payment obligations. These templates establish the framework for bonding requirements but do not specify project timeline details, response deadlines, site visit schedules, bidder conferences, award dates, or contract terms, as those elements would be contained in the associated Invitation for Bids (IFB) documentation.

The bond forms require completion with specific dollar amounts reflecting the contract value, execution dates, and corporate information for both the principal contractor and surety company. The Labor and Material Payment Bond obligates the contractor and surety to pay for all materials and labor supplied in performance of the contract work, with liability extending to any unpaid subcontractors or material suppliers. The Performance Bond requires the contractor to faithfully perform the contract, complete remedial work as required, and certify that all wages paid comply with prevailing wage rates in Connecticut. The Performance Bond limits the surety's liability to the bond amount and establishes a one-year statute of limitations for claims after the guaranty period expires. Both bonds include provisions waiving notice requirements for contract alterations or extensions and require attestation by corporate representatives and an attorney-in-fact for the surety company.
