About this file
This is a Payment Bond template issued by the City of Santa Monica for a hangar door and gate maintenance repair contract at Santa Monica Airport. The bond secures performance on the contract awarded by City motion on an unspecified date in 2017 and protects all contractors, subcontractors, laborers, materialmen, and other persons employed in contract performance. The bond amount equals 100 percent of the proposal amount and covers all materials, equipment, labor furnished, and amounts due under the Unemployment Insurance Act. The contract scope encompasses biannual inspections, quarterly maintenance services, standard and emergency repair services for multiple hangar doors and secured gate access points at the airport facility. The RFP was issued November 3, 2025, with a questions submission deadline of November 10, 2025, and final bid responses due December 11, 2025, at 3:00 pm. The contract includes options for four additional one-year renewal periods, establishing a potential five-year service relationship.
The bond obligates the surety to pay claimants up to the bonded amount and includes reasonable attorney's fees if suit is brought. The bond remains in full force regardless of any changes, extensions, alterations, or modifications to the contract work, and the surety waives notice of such changes. Bidders must possess a valid California D28 Doors, Gates and Activating Devices Contractor License and demonstrate a minimum of five years of experience. Required insurance includes Commercial General Liability, Automobile Liability, and Workers' Compensation coverage, with the City of Santa Monica named as an additional insured. Pricing proposals must include standard hourly rates, quarterly maintenance visit costs, after-hours and emergency service rates, and a percentage discount off manufacturer's parts price lists. No specific budget range is detailed in the available documents, and no disadvantaged enterprise set-asides are explicitly mentioned in the RFP materials.
