About this file

The document is a Payment Surety Bond for the City of Palo Alto, California, specifically related to the UCC Generator Replacement Project. The project involves removing and replacing a generator system, including associated infrastructure such as a fuel tank, mat slab, stairs, power feed, and an 800-amp triple enclosure with lighting in the exterior mechanical area. Additionally, the scope includes installing a 600-amp automatic transfer switch, a 200-amp panel in the electrical room, and adding lighting to the mechanical room.

The payment bond is structured to secure claims under California Civil Code, with the surety guarantee covering potential non-payments to subcontractors, suppliers, or labor, up to 100% of the total contract amount. The bond provides financial protection for the City of Palo Alto by ensuring that all parties involved in the project will be compensated for their work and materials. The surety company waives certain legal provisions and agrees to cover reasonable attorney's fees if a suit is brought against the bond, demonstrating a comprehensive financial safeguard for the municipal infrastructure improvement project.
