About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document addressing vendor inquiries regarding a federal procurement for a Fluke Model 6055 High Temperature Bath Deep-Well unit.

The document clarifies four key procurement requirements: (1) incumbent vendor information is unavailable as the last unit was purchased in the early 1990s; (2) the specified Fluke Model 6055 unit remains current and available, with nomenclature variations possible depending on the source ("Hi-Temp Deep-Well Bath" with maximum temperature of 550°C and 24-inch well depth); (3) only new equipment is acceptable, with refurbished or used units explicitly prohibited; and (4) no substitutions or alternative models are permitted based on the specific design and configuration requirements of the requested bath unit. The responses indicate the contracting agency has firm specifications and will not accept deviations from the stated model requirements.

Questions and Answers

1. Would like to request any available incumbent information, including prior vendor, contract number, and historical pricing (if available).

Response: We need clarification on this question, but I’ll try my best to answer. The last unit was purchased in the early 90’s; any information associated with our “incumbent” bath is obsolete.

2. Request you to please provide an alternate part number since the Fluke Model 6055, High Temperature Bath Deep-Well is obsolete with no replacement (Currently have bids with part number Fluke Model 6055, however you can verify)

Response: The model is 6055, the nomenclature may vary depending on where you seek out the information. Fluke’s site lists it as “Hi-Temp Deep-Well Bath.” Max temperature 550°C with a 24 inch well. The item is not obsolete.

3. The units being requested do they have to be new units? If not can they be refurbished or used units?

Response: Yes, we only procure new equipment; it cannot be refurbished or used.

4. If the models requested are not available. Are there other suggested models that would suffice?

Response: This model is available from Fluke; there are no substitutions based on the specific design and configuration of this bath.
