About this file

This document appears to be a Request for Information (RFI) response and revision notes for a Performance Work Statement (PWS) related to underground storage tank (UST) inspections. The document addresses five key questions about the tank inspection project, with responses in red text. The key details include: water source availability (approximately 300 ft away, with a recommendation for a water tank), tank availability timeline (both tanks can be taken out of service after 1 June 2026 in a single mobilization), and modifications to the original PWS. Specifically, the PWS has been updated to remove the 100% floor scan requirement, replacing it with UT shell scans, and eliminating the secondary containment inspection requirement. The preferred approach is to inspect one tank completely before moving to the second tank, with a single mobilization planned for the project.

Text version

Please review the revised updated PWS to reflect the RFI’s submitted

1. Is there a water source close to the tanks (spigot)?

Water is available, but approximately over 300 ft away. This will also have to cross a heavy traffic area. A water tank would be the preferred method.

2. Are both tanks being made available at the same time or will they be made available separately, as two mobilizations?

Both tanks can be taken out of service after 1 June 2026. One mobilization would be required. It is preferred to inspect one tank and close it up before starting the other

3. Can we take both out of service at same time, or do we need to empty one, clean and inspect it, close it up and move to the other?

Both tanks can be taken out of service after 1 June 2026. One mobilization would be required. It is preferred to inspect one tank and close it up before starting the other.

4. These are UST's, they do not have floors like the AST’s. One section talks about scanning floors 100% and taking 5 readings on each plate. Can you elaborate on the expectation of the floor deliverable?

The PWS has been updated to reflect removing the 100% floor scan and only conducting UT shell scans.

5. There is a deliverable about inspecting the secondary containment but a lot of guidance as to what is going to be required since it’s not the standard AST secondary containment. Can you elaborate any more on what that need to include?

The PWS has been updated to reflect removing the secondary containment inspection.
