1.1. BACKGROUND: This SOW applies to the POTFF event schedule for 26-28 April 2019. The Group has identified three areas of need that focus on improvement or enable success across the force: 1) increase initial contact with families on assignment to Group, 2) formalize and expand the reception, orientation and welcoming of Families to Group and 3) implement a mentorship program for Team and Section Sergeants to enhance their ability to identify problems and leverage existing resources to more effectively support our Soldiers and families. This event, and the ones to follow, will focus on the holistic support to the family, including the Soldier. In training and supporting the family, the stress and pressure on the Soldier and Families will be reduced. The 10th SFG (A) is investing funds and time into this program knowing that it will yield great results in preserving the overall force. This training on 26-28 April 2019 explicitly meets the intent of the POAM justification by training the Service Members and Families on the pillars of POTFF to include Spiritual Performance, Psychological Performance, and Social Performance of the Family. Each pillar will be trained by a 10th SFG (A) SME in each field creating a holistic training approach. This event falls into the approved POAM training category of Holistic Performance Training.
