About this file
This is a Request for Proposals (RFP) document issued by Durham County Utilities Division in North Carolina for painting and coating services. The project encompasses surface preparation, pressure washing, removal of loose rust from exposed piping, and application of protective coatings to concrete surfaces including manholes, tanks, and walkways, as well as ductile and steel piping at designated project locations. The scope of work is designed to restore protective coatings, prevent corrosion, extend asset life, and improve the appearance of facility infrastructure. Qualified contractors must hold Association for Material Protection and Performance (AMPP) certification and provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the work. The RFP solicits proposals from firms capable of executing this comprehensive protective coating program across the county's utilities infrastructure.
The document establishes requirements for contractor qualifications, with AMPP certification serving as a key credential for demonstrating expertise in material protection and performance standards. Contractors are expected to provide detailed proposals addressing their methodology, timeline, quality assurance measures, and pricing for all materials and labor required. The contract structure and specific award criteria, pricing terms, and renewal options would be detailed within the full RFP documentation to guide potential bidders in developing competitive and compliant proposals for Durham County's consideration.
