Packaging Requirements Summary
This is a Packaging Requirements document (AFMC Form 158) for federal military procurement under Purchase Instrument Number FD20302601184-00. The document establishes packaging and marking standards for Item 1680016531320KT and specifies compliance with MIL-STD-129 Revision R and MIL-STD 2073-1 Revision E. The packaging classification is designated as MIL Long Line Packaging at Preservation Level MIL and Packaging Level B. Unit pack specifications include dimensions of 34.5 inches length by 20.5 inches width by 17.0 inches depth, weighing 46.50 pounds with a cubic measurement of 6.957 cubic feet.
The document emphasizes strict compliance with United Nations-implemented restrictions on wood packaging material (WPM) to prevent the spread of invasive species such as pinewood nematode. All wooden lumber, pallets, and containers must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Centigrade (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 30 minutes, with certification and marking required by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC). Vendors must package items in accordance with MIL-STD-2073-1 for military packaging and MIL-STD-129 for shipping and storage markings. Shipping containers require additional marking and barcode requirements beyond standard military marking specifications, including unit serial numbers and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) information as detailed on the AFMC Form 158. The document was signed by Packaging Specialist Sean R. Cox on 12 May 2026.
