About this file

This is an AFMC Form 158 packaging requirements specification document for federal contract purchase instrument FD20202600976-00, Version 1. The document establishes mandatory packaging and marking standards for item 6110010432504AH, applying MIL-STD-129 Revision R and MIL-STD-2073-1 Revision E standards.

The primary requirement addresses wood packaging material (WPM) compliance with United Nations-implemented restrictions on invasive species, specifically the pinewood nematode. All wooden components—including pallets, skids, load boards, pallet collars, wooden boxes, reels, dunnage, crates, frames, and cleats—must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Centigrade (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 30 minutes. Certification and marking by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC) is required, with reference to International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM No. 15). The packaging classification is MIL Long Line Packaging at preservation level MIL and packaging level B. Unit packaging specifications indicate 4.00-pound items with dimensions of 10.5 x 10.5 x 12.5 inches and a cube measurement of 0.798. Vendor packaging instructions mandate compliance with MIL-STD-2073-1 for military packaging practices and MIL-STD-129 for shipping and storage markings. Shipping containers must include standard military markings plus any additional requirements specified on the AFMC Form 158, such as unit serial numbers, OEM names, or OEM model numbers. The document was prepared by packaging specialist Wendy L. Monson from organization 406 SCMS/GULAA and signed on September 1, 2026.
