About this file
This document contains packaging requirements for a federal contract opportunity. It specifies that all wooden lumber, pallets, and containers must be constructed from debarked, heat-treated (HT) wood that is certified by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee (ALSC). This requirement is in compliance with the United Nations-implemented restrictions on wood packaging material (WPM) to prevent the spread of invasive species. The packaging must meet the standards outlined in MIL-STD-2073-1 and MIL-STD-129 for military packaging and marking. Specific details are provided for the coded data, preservation method, materials, and dimensions of the unit packaging. Additional marking requirements, such as unit serial numbers and original equipment manufacturer information, may also be specified. This packaging information is applicable to a federal contract opportunity for a reactor for the E3 Weapon System, solicited by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center.
