About this file
This document is a Statement of Requirement / Item Description for two (2) handheld x-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers. The Air Force requires these analyzers to have the capability to identify pure metals and alloys, as well as measure coating thickness and weight in accordance with ASTM B568 on various metal substrates. Key requirements include the ability to measure coatings as thin as 0.0001", cameras for sample documentation, the capability to identify metals from Mg-U on the periodic table, a 5W x-ray tube with 1 micrometer graphene window, 3 mm small-spot collimation, an SAE metal alloy library, IP54 rating or greater, and hot swap battery changing capability.
The related federal contract opportunity, Solicitation Number FA813224Q0041, is for the procurement of these THICKNESS MEASURING XRF ANALYZERS. The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is the involved federal agency. No additional details on response dates, award dates, pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, or other salient information are provided in the document.
