P21AS00378 Q&A
1. Are you expecting a budget narrative as part of the proposal? Or is the 424a adequate?
A budget narrative is not a required element of the application, but can be incorporated as a way to demonstrate how your organization would run this program.
2. Would the SF-424 and 424A require $400k as the federal share? $2M?
I recommend that the 424s demonstrate the total five-year cost that you would expect this program to run. The actual proposed cost is up to you as this is your application.
3. This is flown under a different CFDA than the most common utilized (15.931). This is 15.954 -- NPS Conservation, Protection, Outreach, and Education. To our knowledge this poses no concerns, but wanted to see if you had any comments as to the use of 15.954.
This internship program runs under 15.954 rather than 15.931 because it is not explicitly a youth program. This simply means that no cost-share is required and there are no age limitations for the Business Plan Interns. There are no other substantial differences between this program and one run under CFDA 15.931
4. Lastly, I wanted to verify the travel and orientation requirements to ensure costs are appropriate. Orientation is listed as one intensive week onsite at a park; just confirming there won’t be necessary travel to another location for a cohort-based orientation, for example.
I would leave that up to your discretion as part of your application. The final Statement of Work will be negotiated between the selected recipient and NPS, but this is an opportunity to demonstrate how your organization would plan to provide orientation and mentorship to the interns.
