Solicitation P17PS00201 Amendment One
In order to edit the site visit information and answer questions received, the above numbered solicitation is hereby amended as follows:
1. In Section L, Instructions, Conditions and Notice to Offerors, Clause 52.236-27, Site Visit (Construction), the Park point of contact is replaced with the following: Raymond Moore, 907- 683-6407. See also response to question one regarding site accessibility.
2. The following questions regarding the solicitation have been received and answers provided:
Q1. We would like to know if we can access the site on Snowmobiles next week riding the park road?
A1: Snowmobiles are not permitted to be used within the Wilderness areas of Denali National Park, which includes the road corridor and the Toklat Road Camp area. Access at this time of year is only possible via non-motorized means, in accordance with Park regulations. Given the remote location of Toklat, winter access is not typically feasible. Please see https://www.nps.gov/dena/planyourvisit/winter-activities.htm for more information.
Q2. Where exactly is the borrow site located?
A2: The Material Processing site is located due north of the project site as indicated, for example, on Drawing G3.0. This site is immediately adjacent to the work area.
Q3. Are any photographs of the project site or borrow area available?
A3: The project site is adequately described by the Contract Documents and additional photographs are not provided. Photographs of the Material Processing Site are being provided as an attachment to this Amendment.
Q4. In order to meet bridge weight requirements can an excavator be tracked across a bridge independent of a truck?
A4: Please reference Specification 01 11 00, Section 1.4.F, Paragraphs 4 through
6. Application for an official park permit would be required for loads exceeding the listed load limits. Accommodation of heavier than listed loads via separate transit of equipment from the transport vehicle may be permissible under a special permit, depending on equipment weight and configuration. Please note that "A special permit will not relieve Contractor of liability for damage which may result from moving of equipment".
3. All other terms and conditions, including the solicitation due date, remain unchanged.
