STATEMENT OF WORK

This job shall consist of the supply, installation, and maintenance of 183 washers/dryers at various locations in government buildings in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. All the washers and dryers will be coin-operated. The attached schedule, which is part of this solicitation, lists park locations and building numbers where machines/equipment are to be installed. It also lists the number of washers and dryers at each site. Where stacked units are shown, the number given is the total number of machines and not the number of stacks.

The contractor shall provide, install, and maintain heavy-duty type washers and dryers in the quantities and locations listed in the schedule. These washers and dryers shall be Energy Star certified, and the washers shall be low-flow for the least amount of water consumption. Present washers do not need to be replaced, but as new ones are purchased, they are to be Energy Star compliant. Washers shall be heavy-duty type, at least 16-gallon capacity, with minimum 1/3 hp motors. They shall have three different selectable wash levels and three different water temperature choices. Dryers shall be comparable sized heavy-duty types and have at least 2 timed cycles, including normal and permanent press. Tubs and drums shall be metal with porcelain coating or stainless; machine tops shall be porcelain. Washers and dryers shall be any standard color. Units shall be equipped with (and operated by) coin-slot mechanisms which require no more money than the going rate at other commercial installations in and around the park (that rate is currently $1.00 per wash and $1.00 per 30 minute drying cycle.) Mechanisms shall include cycle counters.

Contractor shall service mechanisms, collect coins, record counter totals, and furnish reports to the Government monthly. This will include over-snow travel by snowmobile in the winter months, using BAT technology snowmobiles. All monies collected from the machines shall be sent to the park along with the monthly report.
