About this file
The document is a Salient Characteristics Form for the PacerMan System, a high-fidelity medical training device focused on cardiac pacing procedures. The trainer is designed to provide comprehensive, hands-on training for medical professionals in temporary transvenous cardiac pacing techniques, with advanced technological capabilities including ultrasound compatibility, real-time patient monitoring, and scenario-based training modes.
Key performance characteristics include sensor technology for venous identification and access, ability to communicate with patient monitors, assess waveforms, and produce physiologic responses to pacing. The system is an all-in-one package featuring a manikin, laptop, and software that enables training on both asynchronous and synchronous pacing modes. It provides realistic simulation with real-time vital signs (HR, ABP, NIBP, SPO2), mechanical and electrical capture capabilities, ECG tracing for catheter positioning, and includes both instructor and student training modes. The solicitation is issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 6, with the solicitation number 36C24625Q1091.

Salient Characteristics Transaction #:
PacerMan System
(A) Functions to be performed;
High fidelity trainer that allows for hands on training on temporary transvenous cardiac pacing, to include diagnosis, capture and sensing.
(B) Performance required;
Sensor technology Ultrasound compatible with venous identification and access with ability for fluid aspiration Communicate with Patient monitor in real time Ability to assess waveforms and pacer manipulation Ability to produce physiologic responses to pacing Provide training on both asynchronous and synchronous pacing modes, including training scenarios for both Provide for practice from insertion of pacer wires to pacer capture.
Presents real time vital signs
(C) Essential physical characteristics; Dimensions (if applicable) Durable replaceable tissue All in one system (manikin, laptop, with software to run the manikin and display waveforms) System responds to manipulation of pulse and pacing thresholds.
Has both mechanical and electrical capture Has real-time vitals including HR, ABP, NIBP, and SPO2 Defibrillator for transcutaneous pacing and transition of care ECG tracing presents intracardiac location waveforms to confirm catheter positioning Scenario-based training: Instructor mode includes common, native rhythms/settings for transcutaneous and transvenous threshold, and multiple outcomes. Student mode allows hands self-guided training
