About this file

This document is a Request for SDVOSB/VOSB Sole Source Justification for the Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically for procuring Olympus Brand Scopes and Ultrasound Systems. The procurement is for the Digestive Diseases Department at James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital, requiring specific Olympus medical equipment including UCT180/GIF-X190N/GF-UE160-AL5 Scopes and Arietta 850 AT Ultrasound systems to be used in Endoscopy/Bronchoscopy suites for video imaging during medical procedures.

The sole source justification identifies Alliant Enterprises, LLC (a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business) as the exclusive authorized reseller for Olympus medical equipment. The contract is being awarded under simplified acquisition procedures with a determination that only this vendor can meet the government's requirements. The equipment is specifically needed to maintain compatibility with existing Olympus medical equipment in the department's current inventory, and market research confirmed Alliant Enterprises as the only available source. The anticipated contract value is not explicitly stated, but the document indicates it is under $5 million and will be a firm-fixed price contract.
