About this file
This document is a sole source justification under simplified procedures for certain commercial items in accordance with FAR 13.5. The Department of Veterans Affairs Network/Contracting Office 07-Birmingham Site Team is seeking to award a sole source contract to San-I-Pak Pacific to provide all labor, tools, materials, supplies, equipment, supervision, and transportation required to perform quarterly services and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer's specifications of a government owned San-I-Pak Compactor Sterilizer. The period of performance is from September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2028 at a total contract value of $304,905.24. San-I-Pak is the only certified and authorized technician to service this equipment due to proprietary training requirements, and utilizes a factory trained technician to perform the required quarterly maintenance and emergency services within 12 hours as needed. The justification cites FAR 13.5 and 41 U.S.C. 1901 for restricted competition as San-I-Pak is the only responsible source that can meet the agency's requirement.
