About this file
This document is a sole source justification for a federal contract award. The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 17 requires endoscopes and full-service maintenance for its Austin Outpatient Clinic Gastroenterology Endoscopy Laboratories. The period of performance is February 1, 2023 through January 31, 2025 with two option years. The supplies and services will be used for direct patient care and require standardization to ensure safety. The contract was awarded to Olympus America Incorporated on January 31, 2023 for $301,938.62 to lease six CF-HQ190L colonoscopes, seven GIF-HQ190 endoscopes, and eight PCF-HQ1 slim colonoscopes, and provide full maintenance. The justification cites authority under the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13.5 for restricting competition due to the need for compatibility with the agency's existing Olympus equipment, parts, and repair processes. Market research found no other capable sources.
