Baxter/Hillrom lifts are currently in place throughout the Sioux Falls VA Healthcare System. The
Biomed department has the parts to service, repair Baxter/Hillrom lifts. The necessity for these specific Baxter/Hillrom lifts is critical for the space requirements. They were selected for the project design to account for the structural build of construction and functionality. Installation services included, labor and material to install patient lifts. Sioux Falls staff are familiar with operations of these lifts which minimizes operations training, while maintaining maximum safety for the patients.
4. Description of market research conducted and results or statement why it was not conducted:
This requirement was previously solicited from 8/19/2022 to 8/26/2022 on GSA as a SB set aside and no quotes were received. An intent to SS was posted on Aug 26, 2022 where two SB responded to the intent stating interes in the requirement. The Government resolicited the requirement as a SB set aside on SAM.gov on Sept 10, 2022 closing Sept 15, 2022 and receive 3 offers. One offer submitted late and was not evaluated, another offer was above the 5% threshold required for pricing to be fair and reasonable and was not evaluated, and the final offer was evaluated but did not pass the technical evaluation. This requirement was approved as a brand name only requirement for the Baxter Liko Patient Handling system. The Government intends to issue a sole source award to Baxter. No waiver exist for patient lifts.
