About this file
This document is a brand name justification for a weight-based inventory management system. The Department of Veterans Affairs Salt Lake City VA Medical Center requires installation of a Par Excellence weight-based inventory management system in thirteen leased buildings including community-based outpatient clinics and an onsite leased building. The sole-source justification is provided as Par Excellence is the only system that fully integrates with the VISTA and GIP systems already implemented at the medical center. Market research found no other vendors offer a compatible solution. The incumbent, SDV Office Systems LLC, is the authorized distributor of Par Excellence and provided a similar solution previously under contract 36C25922P1314 for $3,099,317.86. The estimated value of this follow-on requirement is $637,755.23.

Previous sources sought (36C25922Q0467) was posted for a previous procurement of the same equipment less than 7 months ago. Results of the sources sought discovered that multiple SB vendors were capable of providing similar items but it would take some time to integrate the systems to work with the VISTA and GIP programs that are already in place. VISN 19 previously awarded to SDV Office Solutions LLC for the exact type of equipment at the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center under contract 36C25922P1314, during 4th quarter of 2022 for $3,099,317.86.
