About this file
This document is a Justification and Approval (J&A) for Other Than Full and Open Competition (OFOC) for a firm-fixed-price contract to provide a SunCHECK Enterprise Quality Management System for Radiation Oncology at the VA Greater Los Angeles Medical Center.
The VA requires this system to perform patient testing for certain diseases and abnormalities for veteran patients in the Radiology department. The estimated contract value is $5.1 million for the base period and four option years from 8/27/2024 to 8/26/2029. The VA has determined that Sun Nuclear is the only responsible source able to provide this specialized equipment and software without unacceptable delays, per FAR 6.302-1. Limited market research was conducted due to the sole source nature of the requirement. The contracting officer and branch chief have certified the justification and approved the sole source award to Sun Nuclear.
