About this file
This document is a justification and approval for other than full and open competition. The Department of Veterans Affairs awarded a firm fixed-price contract to The Janz Corporation for $348,315.62 on September 27, 2021 to provide 65 overhead replacement ceiling lift motors for existing Liko overhead lifts. The requirement relates to ongoing work at the Louisville VA Medical Center to comply with medical center and VHA policies on safe patient handling. A sources sought notice was posted on August 27, 2021 with responses due September 1, 2021. Offers were received from two SDVOSBs, The Janz Corporation and Electra-Med Corporation, with a price difference of $3,336.48. Given similar past performance and both being authorized distributors, a sole source award to The Janz Corporation was determined reasonable under 38 USC 8127(c).
