About this file
This document is a Brand Name Justification for Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 16. The justification is for the procurement of two (2) STERIS V-Pro Max 2 sterilizers for the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. The justification cites the unique characteristics of the brand name equipment as the reason for a single-source procurement, as the required features and specifications would necessitate creating a new Standard Operating Procedure and additional training, which would cause a delay in delivering patient care. Market research was conducted through a Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought, but no responses were received. The procurement is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) and will be awarded as a Firm-Fixed Price single-award contract.
